Bulldogs centre Daryl Millard is to leave the club at the end of the NRL season and join Wakefield Wildcats in the English Super League on a two-year deal.

Millard, who joined the Bulldogs in 2007 and has played 48 NRL games for the club, has struggled to get into the first grade squad this year with the strong form of Josh Morris and Jamal Idris.

"We are sad to see him go but he has a great opportunity ahead of him with Wakefield and we'll be following his progress with great interest," said Bulldogs coach Kevin Moore.

"He has been a complete professional in every aspect of his life as a footballer: he has stepped up to every challenge on the field, he is always one of the first to offer to help out with our community programs and he has made the most of the education programs available to him.

"We wish him all the best."
