Inu confident of return for Eels' semi

Five days may allow Krisnan Inu to be fit for an NRL semi-final, but is it enough time for an entire Parramatta side to recover from a bruising win?

That is the question and major focus of Eels management this week as they have the shortest of short turnarounds before hosting the Gold Coast at the Sydney Football Stadium on Friday.

After the Eels' dramatic 25-12 qualifying final win over St George Illawarra on Sunday, the players returned to Parramatta on Monday for a 30 minute swimming session followed by massages.

The training workload will be kept low all week with plenty of rest time as the focus is on fine-tuning players rather than plays.

"I think we've just got to freshen up and be ready to rip in," said centre Joel Reddy, adding coach Daniel Anderson had allowed the players to enjoy the moment before switching on again on Monday.

"Obviously with a short turnaround there wasn't too much (celebrating). He let us enjoy the night and get a few pats on the back but then from now on in it's all about the Titans."

The giant-killing Eels have had three five-day turnarounds in 2009 - but only once have they won the game.

Parramatta lost 40-8 to Brisbane in round seven, drew 16-all with South Sydney in round 11 but ominously they stitched up the high-flying Bulldogs 27-8 in round 20.

It was the belief built in that win at ANZ Stadium, the second in a string of seven to reach the finals, that has propelled the Eels into title contention.

Inu, meanwhile, says he should be fit to play the Titans after he failed a fitness test and was replaced by Jonathan Wright on Sunday.

The former Kiwi Test star won't run at full pace until later this week and is adamant he won't play unless he is 100 per cent.

"I wouldn't do that to the team," said Inu.

"It's an honest thing, if you know you can't do it for 80 minutes then don't bother. There is a lot of guys that can fill in.

"I should be all right, I was close to playing last week but unfortunately I did not pass the test on the last day.

"The team was looking good yesterday, it didn't look like they missed me out there.

"I will probably take it slow at the start of the week and get ready Wednesday or Thursday."
