Warriors backrower Lewis Brown and Brisbane winger Antonio Winterstein are the two new faces in New Zealand's squad for the Four Nations rugby league tournament this month.

NRL grand finalists St George Illawarra and Sydney Roosters have also provided a number of players with Dragons forward Jeremy Smith joining Roosters quartet Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Sam Perrett and Frank-Paul Nuuausala.

Coach Steve Kearney said the squad had been difficult to select.

"We're in a position with our depth-developing where a number of very good players have missed out," he said.

"That's disappointing for them but really encouraging for us that we now have strong competition for spots."
