The Stormers remained Super Rugby's only unbeaten team by outmuscling the Sharks 16-6 in South Africa's coastal derby on Saturday.

Returning Stormers captain Schalk Burger scored the only try of the match when he picked up at a ruck to dive over untouched in the 14th minute.

Flyhalf Peter Grant kicked 11 points with a conversion and three penalties as the visitors from Cape Town handled the pouring rain at Durban's Kings Park better with another strong defensive display.

The Sharks managed just two first-half penalties from No.10 Jacques-Louis Potgieter.

Burger followed up a break from centre Jaque Fourie to touch down in his first game since being injured in the Stormers' opening match on February 26.
