The Stormers have beaten the Sharks 32-12 in a fierce contest between the leading South African sides in Super Rugby on Saturday.

Springbok centres Jean de Villiers and Jaque Fourie and wing Gio Aplon scored first-half tries for the Stormers to lead 22-9 at halftime.

De Villiers enjoyed a great game and had a hand in Aplon's try, producing a big tackle on Meyer Bosman, which saw the Sharks center spill the ball.

Hooker Deon Fourie added a try in the second half.

Stormers five-eighth Lionel Cronje added two conversions and a penalty, while there was one conversion from replacement five-eighth Kurt Coleman and a drop-goal from Aplon.

No.10 Patrick Lambie kicked four penalties for the visiting Sharks, who couldn't break down the Stormers defence.
