Ton up Hore leads Hurricanes against Reds

Hurricanes hooker Andrew Hore will bring up a career milestone when he leads his Super Rugby side against the Reds on Saturday night.

The match marks the All Blacks rake's 100th appearance for the Hurricanes and they'll be eager to have something to celebrate after a poor run of form that leaves them 13th in the standings.

Coach Mark Hammett has made six changes to his starting 15 for the game against the competition leaders.

A number of them have been forced on Hammett by injury, with fullback Cory Jane and inside centre Ma'a Nonu joining the walking wounded due to injuries suffered in the loss to the Sharks at Durban last weekend.

Andre Taylor will start in Jane's place while Charlie Ngatai will fill the big hole left by Nonu.

Aaron Cruden returns from his own injury break to replace Daniel Kirkpatrick at five-eighth, and Chris Eaton continues the merry-go-round at halfback after being named to start ahead of Tyson Keats.

The forwards have been changed, too, with Jason Eaton starting ahead of fellow lock Jeremy Thrush and the injured Serge Lilo making way for Jack Lam on the openside flank.

Hammett has decided to delay the return of All Blacks inside back Piri Weepu for at least another week.

Weepu had targeted making his comeback on Saturday from a broken leg suffered late last year.

Hurricanes: Andre Taylor, Alapati Leiua, Jayden Hayward, Charlie Ngatai, Hosea Gear, Aaron Cruden, Chris Eaton, Victor Vito, Jack Lam, Faifili Levave, James Broadhurst, Jason Eaton, Neemia Tialata, Andrew Hore (capt), John Schwalger. Res: Dane Coles, Anthony Perenise, Jeremy Thrush, Mark Reddish, Tyson Keats, Julian Savea, Beauden Barrett.
