Wallaby back James O'Connor will miss the Western Force's final Super Rugby match after receiving a one-match ban.

The gifted outside back was found guilty of dangerous play by a SANZAR judicial hearing held on Sunday in Perth.

O'Connor had been cited for making a dangerous lifting tackle on Queensland Reds' captain James Horwill during their match in Perth on Saturday.

SANZAR judicial officer Michael Cashman said he found O'Connor's offence at the low end of seriousness and, after taking account of mitigating factors, he reduced the sanction of three weeks to a one-week suspension.

O'Connor will miss the Force's final match of the regular season against the Rebels next Friday in Melbourne.

The Reds came from behind on Saturday to beat the Force 24-21.
