Townsville ground out a tough 117-105 win over a feisty Singapore outfit to continue their impressive National Basketball League form.

Evergreen Crocs skipper John Rillie was the architect for his side continuing his hot three shooting with 29 points while Corey Williams capitalised on some tiring Slingers' defence with 31 points.

Mike Helms' game-high 34 points and strong contributions from Chris Cameron and Ben Knight wasn't enough to lift Singapore off the bottom of the table.

The visitors dominated the early exchanges taking a five-point lead however the injection of young gun Michael Cedar and 11 first-quarter points from John Rillie saw the Crocs ahead 30-25 at the break.

The second quarter was a sea-sawing affair, the lead exchanging several times before Slingers star import Mike Helms exploded with 12 points to put his team ahead 54-51 at the half.

Corey Williams sparked into life after the break scoring 13 points on the back of his now trademark drives through the key way ensuring the home side went ahead by five going into the final quarter.

The Slingers' defence finally cracked midway through the fourth allowing the home team to blow out the final score.
