Central Coast Mariners secured their first home win of the season in style when they thrashed Perth Glory 4-0 at Central Coast Stadium.

Central Coast striker Stewart Petrie netted a double with Dean Heffernan and captain Noel Spencer also getting on the scoresheet.

Petrie and Spencer both took their season tallies to four goals.

A crowd of 6494 turned out in wet conditions to witness the Mariners' triumph.

The win lifted the home side into equal fourth on the A-League ladder and left Perth two points behind in equal sixth place.

Petrie opened the scoring in the 14th minute after his strike partner Tom Pondeljak broke down the right and slid the ball across the face of goal.

The cross eluded two Perth defenders and goalkeeper Jason Petkovic. Petrie was on hand at the far post to tap the ball home.

The Scottish striker doubled his side's lead three minutes into the second half, after Central Coast right midfielder Matthew Osman sent Pondeljak down the right wing.

Petrie angled Pondeljak's superb cross with a diving header past a hapless Petkovic.

Central Coast left-back Heffernan scored four minutes before full-time when he finished a Wayne O'Sullivan cross after lead-up play by Pondeljak.
