Glory striker Harnwell loses appeal

Perth Glory striker Jamie Harnwell's appeal against an extra week's suspension has failed, Football Federation Australia says.

An FFA disciplinary committee has confirmed a two-match ban for serious foul play after Harnwell was sent off in the round 16 match against Wellington at Westpac Stadium.

Harnwell had an extra week added by the FFA to his automatic one-game suspension.

He will miss Glory's round 18 clash with Queensland in Perth on December 30 after already sitting out last weekend's win over Sydney.

He will be eligible to return for Perth's home match against ladder leaders Central Coast on January 6.

Harnwell was marched for a challenge on the Phoenix's Vaughan Coveny in the 3-0 loss on December 7.
