St George Illawarra will return to their traditional heartlands next year, ending their one-year association with ANZ Stadium.

The Dragons will play six home games at Jubilee Oval in Kogarah and another six at WIN Stadium in Wollongong in 2009.

The red and whites played half of their home games in 2008 at Homebush but with the redevelopment of Jubilee Oval nearing completion the Dragons are happy to get back to their roots next year.

"Everyone at the Dragons is excited about playing at Jubilee Oval next year and being back within our region," Dragons chief executive Peter Doust said.

The Dragons will play Gold Coast (Round 2), Warriors (Rnd 8), Penrith (Rnd 12), North Queensland (Rnd 14), Manly (Rnd 18) and Brisbane (Rnd 24) at Wollongong.

The return to Kogarah will coincide with the fierce local derby against Cronulla (Rnd 3) plus further games against Newcastle (Rnd 6), Bulldogs (Rnd 10), Sydney Roosters (Rnd 17), Melbourne (Rnd 21) and Parramatta (Rnd 26).

St George Illawarra also announced their three pre-season matches next year against the Roosters at Perth's Members Equity Stadium on February 14, Bulldogs (WIN Stadium, Feb 21) and the Charity Shield battle with South Sydney (ANZ Stadium, Feb 28).
