Cronulla have continued their 2010 NRL recruitment drive by signing Wests Tigers utility John Morris on a two-year deal.

Morris will join his fourth NRL club next season after three years with the Tigers and previous stints with Newcastle and Parramatta.

The 28-year-old has been used at halfback, five-eighth and hooker for Wests but will get the chance to cement a regular place as Cronulla's No.9 next season.

"It is an opportunity to play at hooker which is a position where I believe my best footy is ahead of me," Morris said in a statement on Saturday.

"It's also exciting to be coming to a club coached by Ricky Stuart and which has a good mix of quality young players, plus the likes of Paul Gallen, Anthony Tupou and Trent Barrett.

Stuart said Morris would bring versatility and valuable experience to the club.

"John is a very experienced and accomplished player who will certainly add a lot to our team," Stuart said.

"He will also be a very important asset in being able to assist with the development of some of the good young players we have at the club.

"He'll be very handy in helping to bring them through."

Morris's signing comes a week after the Sharks secured the services of Manly forward Adam Cuthbertson for the next two seasons.
