Young cleared to take on Tigers

St George Illawarra have received a boost on the eve of their NRL clash against Wests Tigers with lock Dean Young passing a fitness test on his injured calf.

Young trained strongly for the entire 90 minute session and is considered a definite starter in Friday night's WIN Jubilee Stadium encounter on Friday night after being a late withdrawal for last week's win over Cronulla.

Also returning is NSW prop Michael Weyman after he was rested against the Sharks, with Jon Green to drop off the five-man bench named earlier this week.

The match will be a test of both side's premiership credentials with the third-placed Tigers out to continue their four-match winning streak against the ladder leaders.
