South Sydney Rabbitohs five-eighth John Sutton and new recruit Stuart Webb have been fined by the club after engaging in "unruly behaviour" at an inner-western Sydney bowling club.

Webb, who has just joined the Rabbitohs from the Roosters, and Sutton were fined and reprimanded over their behaviour at the Erskineville Bowling Club.

The club would not disclose how much the fines were, only to say they were a minor amount.

"We have investigated the situation and we've deemed the players' conduct to be unacceptable according to the Erskineville Bowling Club's guidelines," South Sydney chief executive Shane Richardson said in a statement.

"No damage was done to the (bowling) club or patrons, however we do respect the club's rules and have therefore reprimanded and fined the players."

It is understood the incident related to the use of bad language, which goes against the bowling club's policy.

Meanwhile, the Rabbitohs want fans and nearby residents to show their support for the club's plans to redevelop Redfern Oval by turning out for a rally at the site of their old home ground this Sunday.

Leagues club president George Piggins and Richardson are among the speakers who will talk on plans to make Redfern Oval a 12,000-capacity ground with a 2,500-seat grandstand capable of hosting NRL-level matches

The plans, which also include the construction of state-of-the-art training facilities, will be on display at the Oval.

"We encourage everyone who wants to support South Sydney's bid to redevelop Redfern Oval for NRL use to come along on Sunday, as we need to show the Lord Mayor (Clover Moore) and her councillors that South Sydney and the local community want Redfern Oval to be a facility for the whole community, not just the groups she wants to support," Piggins said.
