Bulldogs facing tough test in Auckland

The high-flying Bulldogs will face one of their toughest tests of the season on Sunday when their severely depleted team takes on the Warriors at Mount Smart Stadium.

Coach Kevin Moore will be without Brett Kimmorley, Michael Ennis and centre Josh Morris, who have been called up to the NSW State of Origin squad.

Kimmorley will be replaced by Daniel Holdsworth, with Michael Sullivan to deputise for Ennis.

Moore may also be forced to do without leading try scorer Bryson Goodwin and forward Greg Eastwood, who are facing potential three-match bans after being handed grade two infringements by the NRL match review committee.

The charges were issued following dangerous throws by Eastwood and Goodwin during Monday's 19-12 defeat by Manly.

The pair has been named in the side to travel to Auckland with their fate to be decided on Wednesday.

Also out for the Bulldogs due to injury are centre Jamal Idris and prop Ben Hannant.

The Warriors are boosted by the return of giant winger Manu Vatuvei and prop Russell Packer as they look to stop a poor run of form that has seen them win just two of their last nine games.

Third-placed Gold Coast have named Luke Bailey, Mark Minichiello and Mat Rogers in their side for Monday night's game against Parramatta at Skilled Park, but coach John Cartwright will make a final decision on the trio's fitness later in the week.

Krisnan Inu returns for Parramatta after recovering from a virus that kept him out of last Sunday's defeat to Penrith.

The New Zealand international will play on the wing with Ben Smith remaining in the centres and Luke Burt moving to fullback, with Jarryd Hayne on State of Origin duty.

Top-of-the-table St George Illawarra have named new signing Nathan Fien on the bench for the visit of in-form Manly to WIN Stadium on Sunday.

The former North Queensland rake joined the Dragons after a disastrous spell with the Warriors and has been included on a five-man bench.

Manly are missing five players to Origin, including the now-injured Jamie Lyon, and the Dragons four, including forwards Neville Costigan, Ben Creagh and Justin Poore.

The reigning premiers could also be without hooker Heath L'Estrange, who has been put on report for a dangerous tackle.

Canberra's Toyota Cup centre Daniel Vidot will make his NRL debut for the Raiders against Newcastle at EnergyAustralia Stadium on Saturday night.

Vidot comes into the side on the wing for Justin Carney, who was ruled out for the remainder of the season after breaking his leg against the Titans on Sunday.

The Raiders have been forced to make two other changes to their side for this weekend's match with David Shillington and Tom Learoyd-Lahrs both involved with State of Origin.

South Sydney coach Jason Taylor has dropped fullback Luke Capewell for their clash with Penrith, despite his hat-trick in last week's 54-20 humbling by Wests Tigers.

Beau Champion returns to the centres after a stint in NSW Cup with North Sydney and Nathan Merritt returns to the No.1 shirt after playing on the wing against the Tigers.

Issac Luke starts in place of NSW utility Craig Wing.

Last week's match winner against Parramatta Junior Tia Kilifi keeps his place on the wing for the Panthers.
