The Wallaroos have qualified for the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup in England, securing the Oceania position by beating Samoa 87-0 at Apia.

Rebecca Trethowan scored a hat-trick for Australia while Ruan Sims and Nicole Beck scored doubles in the 15-try romp.

Kristy Giteau, the big sister of Wallabies super star Matt Giteau, made her debut in the first half and scored a try at the nine minute mark.

There were four other players earning their first international caps; Cobie Morgan, Emerna Marsh, Rebecca Clough and Ashleigh Hewson.

Captain Cheryl Soon was extremely happy with the result.

"I didn't expect that (margin). I am very honoured and very proud of the girls and the performance they put on," Soon said.

Coach John Manenti was equally pleased: "They played to the plan and they played well. They have worked very hard and we're going to London for the World Cup in 2010."
