Former Melbourne Storm star Matt King scored one of second-placed Warrington's seven tries in their scrappy 40-28 win at struggling Bradford.

The ex-Australia centre moved to 12 tries for the English Super League season but the Wolves were far from convincing in condemning the Bulls to their fifth straight defeat.

Mickey Higham also bagged two tries while in-form winger Chris Riley moved to 18 tries for the season with a double as the Wolves kept pace with Wigan.

Ex-Manly favourite Steve Menzies and former Cronulla stand-off Brett Kearney went over for the injury-hit Bulls.

Former Auckland Warriors winger Francis Meli scored a stunning solo try as St Helens won a thrilling derby 26-24 at leaders Wigan.

The towering 31-year-old touched down his own grubber kick in the 26th minute for one of Saints' five tries in front of a capacity DW Stadium crowd.

Jamie Foster's 67th minute try looked to have sewn-up the win as Saints opened up a 26-12 lead with England internationals Leon Pryce, James Roby and the outstanding Paul Wellens also crossing.

However, Wigan refused to lie down and tries from Michael McIlorum and Martin Gleeson set-up a tense final five minutes but Saints, who had lost the first derby of the season, held-on for revenge.

Victory saw third-placed Saints move to within four points of Wigan.

Former Sydney Roosters centre Vince Mellars scored a try two minutes from time as Welsh outfit Crusaders stunned champions Leeds with a shock 32-26 win at Headingley.

The lead changed hands several times but Mellars, who also scored in the first-half, had the final say.

Ex-Gold Coast centre Brett Delaney and winger Scott Donald scored two of Leeds's four tries.

But two tries from Weller Hauraki and 12 points from the boot of full-back Clinton Schifcofske grabbed the Crusaders their momentous win.

Ex-Wests Tigers favourite Brett Hodgson led from the front as Huddersfield fought back from 18-0 down to beat Hull 32-18.

Former Tigers teammate Willie Manu had scored one of Hull's tries as the visitors raced into an 18-0 lead inside half an hour.

But Hodgson inspired a stunning comeback from the Giants as they scored five tries and 32 points without reply to stay sixth in the table.

Ex-Canberra half-back Michael Dobson helped himself to 22 points in Hull KR's 42-6 thumping of Harlequins.

Dobson scored two tries and kicked seven goals as Rovers, with Clint Newton also scoring twice, ran riot.

One-time Parramatta second-row Dean Widders scored a first-half hat-trick to earn Castleford a 28-22 win at Salford City Reds.

Widders flew out of the traps and scored twice in the first five minutes and completed his haul before the interval as the Tigers led 22-6 at the break.

But the Reds were level in the second period thanks to tries from Stuart Littler, Jodie Broughton and Ian Sibbit only for Cas centre Brett Ferres to snatch the win with a 74th minute try.

Former St George full-back Clint Greenshields marked his return from a broken leg with a try as Catalans Dragons beat Wakefield 30-23 to end their nine-match losing run.

The French club trailed 22-10 after the break but Greenshields try began a fantastic comeback from Kevin Walters' men with ex-Sydney Roosters centre Setaimata Sa also crossing for the Dragons.
