Josh Morris happy at Bulldogs

The chances of the Morris twins re-uniting at St George Illawarra next NRL season appear unlikely after Josh said he's keen to reap the benefits of an exciting new era at Canterbury.

Josh is off contract at the end of this season, and there has been speculation the Dragons are eager to lure the classy centre back to join his brother Brett and add to the 46 games he played in the red and white after making his first-grade debut as a 20-year-old in 2007.

But it's no surprise the classy centre is keen to remain with the Bulldogs. His move from the Dragons coincided with his debut for NSW and Australia in 2009.

"I'm off contract this year actually, so hopefully we can have some talks and progress from there," said Morris, who spoke after conducting a clinic with about 40 kids from St Mark's College at Wattle Grove in Sydney's south-west on Thursday, as part of the NRL's Community Carnival.

"I'm happy where I am at the moment. It's a really good club and I think that the culture that they're building is going to be around for a while and it's a good culture."

The news of Morris' eagerness to stay will hearten Bulldogs fans, who have good reason to believe 2011 will be a big improvement after sinking to 13th on the ladder last season.

The club has recruited heavily, signing highly-rated Melbourne prop Aiden Tolman, backrowers Greg Eastwood and Grant Millington from Leeds and Cronulla respectively, as well as two exciting young halves - Manly No.7 Trent Hodkinson and Parramatta five-eighth Kris Keating.

But Morris is most excited about the prospect of forming a lethal left-side combination with Frank Pritchard, who has moved to the Belmore club after eight seasons at Penrith.

"I'm really looking forward to playing with Frank.

"He's a class player and he's very destructive so hopefully we can get him busting through the line and having me and Benny Barba and Bryson (Goodwin) in support.

"It's something we're all looking forward to."

Bulldogs fans will have to wait a bit longer to see the full recruitment repertoire, with Keating the only of the big-name signings named to play the club's first trial against the Sydney Roosters at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday.

However, according to Morris, one of the Bulldogs' best young Toyota Cup talents, 122kg prop Sam Kasiano, is set to make his mark during the club's three trial matches.

"I think Sam Kasiano is going to be a great player for us," said Morris, who is likely to play at least one trial against the Dragons or Raiders over the following two weekends.

"At training, his fitness levels are very good for a big bloke, he's got the ability to off-load as well and he can obviously put a shot on.

"He's roughed up a few of the boys at training so I'm looking forward to seeing how he goes.
