Sharks flanker Jean Deysel has been suspended for two weeks for a dangerous tackle in the Super Rugby victory over the Waratahs.

Southern hemisphere rugby body SANZAR found Deysel guilty on Tuesday of dangerously tackling Waratahs centre Tom Carter without the ball in the Sharks' 26-21 win on Saturday.

Deysel was yellow-carded for the tackle early in the second half.

Judicial officer Peter Ingwersen ruled Deysel's tackle was a lower-end offence and imposed the minimum sanction of two weeks.

SANZAR banned Lions flanker Michael Rhodes for six weeks on Monday, ruling him out for the rest of the Super 15, for a dangerous tackle that put Highlanders winger Siale Piutau "at serious risk of injury."
