Sydney Roosters lock Frank-Paul Nuuausala will attempt to escape a two-game ban by contesting his dangerous throw charge at the NRL judiciary on Wednesday night.

Nuuausala is pleading not guilty to the grade one infringement, which occurred as a result of his 14th minute lifting tackle on Wests Tigers prop Bryce Gibbs at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday night.

Due to loading and 73 carry-over points, the Kiwi international would have received a two-game ban had he taken the early guilty plea, but a guilty finding at the NRL judiciary will leave him with with 48 carry-over points.

The three Cronulla players who were also charged following their clash with Newcastle - Taulima Tautai, Josh Cordoba and Colin Best - accepted the early guilty plea, leaving all three available for Friday night's trip to Brisbane.
