Newcastle centre Wes Naiqama has been fined an undisclosed sum and reinstated to resume training immediately following a club disciplinary committee meeting on Friday.

It was alleged Naiqama threw a plastic cup as he left the King Street Hotel on Sunday February 1, striking a female patron, however, police completed an investigation into the allegations on Thursday and will not proceed with any charges.

"We didn't look at what exactly happened as it was the subject of a police investigation and we're happy to accept their findings, said Newcastle chief executive Steve Burraston.

"However, we run a strict Code of Conduct that the players are aware of and it is presented to them each year on induction day.

"We found Wes was in breach of certain clauses of the Newcastle Knights Code of Conduct.

"As a result, Wes was fined an undisclosed sum and will be required to make a Code of Conduct presentation to all contracted players.

"We were very happy with the meeting and the way Wes presented himself and believe the sanctions fit the breach."
